The Short Answer
Our top pick is Drury Hotels. Drury's own FAQ says it allows a maximum of five people in a standard room and up to six in a suite, which is the clearest chain-wide rule we found. Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, by Disney Springs, also has deluxe two-room suites with a bedroom door and a pull-out queen sofa.
- At Universal Orlando: the Loews-run Universal hotels list their two-queen rooms at a maximum of five, and Universal's Cabana Bay has Family Suites for six. See our Universal guide.
- Apartment brands in Europe: Citadines, Adagio and Fraser Suites have two-bedroom apartments for six at some locations, but other branches in the same city stop at four.
- Lowest cost: Generator hostels sell private six-bed rooms in London, Paris and Rome.

| Universal value hotels | Family Suite, Kids' Suite or two-bedroom | 5 or 6 | Terra Luna, Stella Nova take 4 |

We haven't yet confirmed rooms for five at Marriott, Hyatt or IHG hotels on their official sites, so those brands aren't covered here.

Same Brand, Different Answer
Even within one brand, the room for five depends on the location. These are the cases we found:
- Citadines: Trafalgar Square in London and Trocadéro in Paris have two-bedroom apartments for six; Holborn, South Kensington and the Barbican in London, and Tour Eiffel, Les Halles, Saint-Germain and Bastille in Paris, stop at four.
- Adagio: Paris Centre Tour Eiffel has a two-bedroom for six; the Opéra, Montmartre and Haussmann aparthotels, and Rome Vatican, stop at four.
- Fraser Suites: Le Claridge in Paris has two-bedroom apartments for six, while Fraser Suites Queen's Gate in London says its one- and two-bedroom apartments suit families of up to four.
- Universal Orlando: Cabana Bay, Aventura and Endless Summer have suites for five or six, while the rooms we checked at Terra Luna, Stella Nova and Helios Grand take four.
- DoubleTree Suites, Disney Springs: the 2 Queens 1 Bedroom Suite sleeps six; the hotel's other suites sleep four.
How to Check a Chain Hotel for Five
- Search for five guests. Enter two adults and three children, with their ages, on the hotel's own site or Booking.com. Rooms that can't take five usually won't show.
- Read the room's occupancy, not the hotel's. A hotel can have one room type for five and dozens for four.
- Check how the fifth bed works. It may be a sofa bed, a rollaway at an extra fee or a sleeper chair. At the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal, a maximum-occupancy booking may need a rollaway, and only one is allowed per room.
- Ask about babies. Hotels count infants differently, and most room pages don't say whether a crib counts.
For city-by-city picks, see our guides to Disney World, Disneyland, New York, Las Vegas, San Diego, London, Paris and Rome.
